HINTERLAND
OF THE RIVIERA DEI FIORI AND COTE D'AZUR
TOUR NR. 1 : CERVO – ROLLO - ANDORA
An easy tour starting from the pretty old village of Cervo overlooking the bay of Diano Marina and San Bartolomeo al Mare, and ending in the sea resort of Andora. Along this itinerary we shall have the possibility of walking through the tipical lanes of the village, visit the baroque church of the “Corallini”, the etnographic museum insite the old castle and dip ourselves in the mediterranean woodland of the Ciapà Park with its very panoramic views.
Level: 323 mt. Up and 323 down.
Difficulty: Escursionistic
Duration: 2 hours and half. Plus the visit of Cervo.
Suggested seasonal period: Spring and autumn.
Suggested departure time: 09,30 a.m.
Possibility of coffee or tea in Cervo and Andora.
Note: It is possible to reach the point of departure and arrival with a 12 mt bus. After the visit of Cervo local bus service every twenty minutes.
TOUR NR.2: CHIAPPA - CERVO
Along a footpathway through country yards and olive trees we reach first the tipical ligurian village of Chiappa and from there we reach the top of the hill where along another footway we shall admire a splendid panorama over the Ligurian sea,until we shall reach the old village of Cervo where we shal have the possibility of visiting the ethnographic museum inside the Castle, and the church of the Corallini, walking through the old lanes of the village.
Level: 400 mt up and 400 down.
Difficulty: Escursionistic.
Duration: 2 hours and half. Plus visit of Cervo.
Suggested periods: Spring and Autumn.
Suggested departure time: 09,30 a.m.
Possibility of coffee or tea in Chiappa or Cervo.
Note: It is possible to reach the departure point at the locality of Molini del Fico by a 12 mt coach. Return: the coach can pick up the Clients at the bottom of Cervo, or public bus line from here every twenty minutes.
TOUR NR. 3: VILLA FARALDI – CERVO
This itinerary starts from the village of Villa Faraldi about 7 km. From the coast. After having passed this old ligurian burg we shall go up through groves of oaks and parfumed bushes until we shall reach the top of the hill from where we shall enjoy a very nice panorama over the sea and Andora on one side, and Diano Marina the other one. This view will stay wih us all the way down to Cervo
Levels:350 mt. Rising and 600 mt. On descent.
Difficulty: Escursionistic.
Duration. Ca. 4 hours
Suggested periods : autumn and spring.
Departure point at Villa Faraldi, can be reached only with minibus.
On the way back from Cervo can be used local public bus every twenty minutes

TOUR NR. 4: PIZZO D’EVIGNO
In spite of its modest altitude the Pizzo d’Evigno is an exeptional panorama terrace, in fact from its top the view can soar as far as the bay of Genoa, the plain of Albenga, the Gallinara island, all the Diano ground, Imperia and the Mediterranean Alps.
We shall start from the village of Cesio (512 m. a.s.l.) on a panoramic position along the old route to Col di Nava and from there we shall reach the Passo del Ginestro and from there always walking along footpathways along the top of the mountain we shall reach the very top of the Pizzo d’Evigno. After a restoring short stop we shall take the way back and we shall descend on the village of Chiusanico first, and then along a small asfalted way, Chiusa Vecchia where our tour will end. The first 3-4 km. Of walking will be along an asphalted street

Note: departure and arrival points can be reached by a 12 mt- coach. Tourists not interested in the walking tour, could spend the time by visiting the middle aged,but still very alive village of Pieve di Teco. Drinks available in Cesio and Chiusanico.
TOUR NR. 5: SEBORGA – COLDIRODI
This itinerary starts from the old principality of Seborga whose abitants still to day date are declaring themselves indipendent fromthe italian nation and in consequence in addition to the mayor they have one Prince and a local coin. After the visit of the village, passing by the old church of Saint Bernard,we shall take the footpath which will bring us on almost level surface to the hill of Ronco, from where we shall enjoy a splendid view over the sea and the Mediterranean Alps. We shall leave then the ridge footprint and first on a footpath and after on a narrow asphalted way we shall reach the old Coldirodi.

Seborga can be reached by coach, and on the way back the coach can meet the walkers in Coldirodi just a couple of Km. From the motorroad exit in Sanremo.
Tea or coffee in Seborga where you can try the local wine or Chiusanico. In Seborga available a very good local wine.
TOUR NR. 6: ALONG THE ROYA VALLEY
Drive by coach to Ventimiglia, then explore the wild and romantic Valley of the River Roya and over the french border reach Breil a middle aged village with a nice old center.The excursion of to day will start with a fortunate raid by train through the mountains. The Tenda Railway connecting Ventimiglia to Limone Piemonte a well known sky resort, runs along a fantastish itinerary up along the valley, over viaducts and tunnels descovering a stop breath environnement. We shall leave the train in the old french village of Breil, where we can have a short coffee break with a croissant and then we start the walking excursion descending the valley along the river in direction Italy. We shall walk as far as Fanghetto a small middle aged italian village and there we can take the bus back to the hotel

TOUR NR. 7: ROCCHETTA NERVINA
Leaving the coach in Rocchetta Nervina we shall start our to day walking tour from this old village hold in the middle of the wild mountains and by a clinbing footpath we shall explore a splendid environment,where the mountain veegetation will get mixed with the mediterranean flora. Walking along an heiht footpath along the ridge of the hill, we shall always enjoy a fantastic view over the Sgorea Valley with its pittoresques rocky slopes. We shall take the coach again in Rocchetta and drive to Dolceacqua another beautifull typical ligurian village situated along the Nervia River one of the prefered corners for the printer Monet and others, where we can enjoy a nice cup of tea or, if you prefer, a glass of the local Rossese very good red wine or of the white dry Vermentino. and visit the old part of the village wih the old Castle of the Princes Doria of Genoa and the old Bridge over the River . We shall then take the coach back to the hotel.

TOUR NR. 8: THE FOOTPATH OF THE ITALIAN ALPS SOLDIERS
P.N. This alps excursion is strictly reserved only to skilled mountain excursionists absolutely exempt from dizziness. For this reason every group will be excorted by two experienced guides.
With their brillants lime rocks raise themselves the twin mountains named Monte Pietravecchia and Monte Torraggio (1973 mt. A.s.l.) overlooking the three valleys of the rivers Roia, Nervia and Argentina. The excursion go along the adventurer Footpath of the Alpini (alps soldiers). This way was built during the years thirties to defend the italien west borders. The surroundings of the Monte Toraggio in addition to their beauty, will be very much apreciated also for the large variety of plants and mountain flowers.
